First Baptist Church Indian Trail is a community rooted in the mission to love and lead everyone they meet into an everyday walk with Christ. At the heart of the church’s identity are values that shape its life and ministry: Focused Outreach, equipping members to share their faith; Biblical Truth, guiding everyday living through Scripture; Christ-Centered Worship, fostering a lifestyle of praise; Intentional Care, demonstrating genuine love for others; and Transformed Lives, helping people grow into lasting relationships with Jesus Christ.
The church measures its mission through actions that reflect obedience, passionate worship, and consistent witness, and it pursues these through strategic pathways of Encounter, Discover, Connect, Serve, and Share.
FBC Indian Trail holds to foundational Christian beliefs affirming the Bible as God’s inspired Word and outlining the nature of the Trinity, the creation of the world, the life and work of Jesus Christ, and salvation through His sacrificial death and resurrection.
Under the leadership of Dr. Mike Whitson, who began serving in 1983, the church has grown from a small congregation to a multi-campus ministry with thousands regularly participating and many baptized. Dr. Whitson has also helped launch missions, church plants, and community ministries, including Cameron’s House of Hope, which supports children affected by drug addiction in their families.
FBC Indian Trail also anchors significant ministries such as Metrolina Christian Academy, a large private Christian school serving students from infants to 12th grade.
