As we prepare for a new phase of growth, we’re hiring a Plumbing Operations & Business Manager to lead our field operations and help drive business performance and expansion.
 
Position Overview
 
This is a high-level leadership role for someone who knows the plumbing industry and also understands the business side. The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day operations in the field while also managing estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and vendor coordination. You will play a key role in improving efficiency, increasing profitability, and helping us grow into new markets.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Lead and manage daily field operations across commercial and residential plumbing projects
     
  • Review and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications
     
  • Estimate and bid jobs accurately, including materials, labor, and subcontractor costs
     
  • Create and maintain project schedules and assign appropriate resources
     
  • Order materials and coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery
     
  • Supervise and support plumbing technicians and subcontractors
     
  • Monitor job progress, quality, and code compliance
     
  • Track and manage job costs, budgets, and profitability
     
  • Identify opportunities to cut costs, increase margins, and scale operations
     
  • Build relationships with general contractors, developers, and clients
     
  • Collaborate with ownership to set goals and support strategic growth
     
What We’re Looking For
 
  • 5+ years in the plumbing industry, including supervisory or project management experience
     
  • Strong ability to read plans and specifications, bid jobs, and manage job costing
     
  • Business-minded, with solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking
     
  • Organized, proactive, and able to lead field teams effectively
     
  • Familiar with local codes, inspection processes, and jobsite safety standards
     
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
     
  • Experience with project management tools, estimating software, or QuickBooks is a plus
     
  • Commitment to quality work and customer satisfaction
     
Preferred Qualifications
 
  • NC Plumbing Contractor License
     
  • OSHA 30 Certification
     
  • Experience in both commercial and residential project management
     
  • Background in growing or scaling operations for a service-based business
