Waxhaw's Christmas Parade will be held on Sunday, December 8 at 3 PM in downtown Waxhaw featuring our local school marching bands and entries and floats by hundreds of businesses and members of the community. Announcers cover the entire parade route to make sure that you hear all of the details surrounding the fun entries passing by. Due to the parade being rained out last Christmas, our parade theme and Grand Marshal from last year will be carried over to this year's parade. Look for floats decorated in any storybook theme such as Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Abominable Snowman, The Grinch Stole Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christmas and more. Or better yet, join us and be in the parade yourself. We are still accepting registrants. Go to waxhaw.recdesk.com or call 704-843-2195 ext. 221 to register.
Our Grand Marshal, Nicole Jordan, truly represents the spirit of giving in our community. This Waxhaw native has put on events for area families in need from the “Waxhaw Walks for Cancer” event and “Project Prom” to programs such as “Adopting a Family for Thanksgiving,” “Sponsor A Local Child For Christmas,” and a local area food pantry. Last year, she was the recipient of The Keziah-Salters Center of Monroe NC 2018 Inspiration Award for Human Potential and recognized for her extraordinary impact upon the community and exceptional service to those in need. If you see Nicole, please thank her for the community spirit she represents and congratulate her on the efforts which make her worthy of Grand Marshal.
