Name: Moving Forward Together: FMLA Expansion Due to the Coronavirus Response Act- Virtual Meeting
Date: April 2, 2020
Time: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
YOUR Union County Chamber is hosting a series of informational virtual meetings to address business challenges due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  We are calling this series "Moving Forward Together" because we are proud to work in a resilient community that will get through this together.

The Coronavirus Response Act expanded provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act, meaning that as of April 1, 2020, to cover employers with fewer than 500 employees.  This means thousands of employers, including small businesses and nonprofits, not previously subject to the FMLA may now have to provide job-protected leave to employees.

YOUR Union County Chamber invites you to a virtual meeting with labor lawyers from Fisher Phillips to find out what employers need to know about this development.
Changes include:
  • The size of businesses now subject to the FMLA provisions
  • Increased reasons for Emergency Leave
  • Caps on Paid Sick Leave Wages

This meeting will be restricted to 100 attendees. We will record the session and make it available for viewing later.  Once you have registered, please do not share your meeting link with anyone for security purposes.
