2026 Great Turkey Countdown – 2,006 Turkeys for 2,006 Families!

This Thanksgiving, Common Heart is gearing up for the biggest Great Turkey Countdown yet! 

We are working to provide 2,006 turkeys and sides to 2,006 families across Union and southeast Mecklenburg Counties, and we need the support of our local businesses, community partners, and neighbors to make it happen!

There are several ways you can get involved:

??Give: A $50 donation provides a turkey and sides for a local family. Financial contributions of any amount are welcome!

??Host a Food Drive: Get your business, employees, church, or community group involved by collecting nonperishable items. Our most-needed items include:

• Boxed stuffing mix
• ?Canned cranberry sauce
• Canned green beans and corn
• Boxed macaroni and cheese
• Jell-O/gelatin
• Cookie or brownie mix
• Cornbread mix

?? Deadline is Friday, November 13 for all nonperishable food donations.

?? Donate a Frozen Turkey: Help us reach our goal by donating frozen turkeys!

?? Drop-offs begin Monday, November 16.

?? Volunteer: We need volunteer drivers to help deliver turkeys and sides to families throughout our community on Saturday, November 21! Our goal is to have 600 volunteers helping make this day possible.

?? Spread the Word: Do you know someone who could use a little extra support this Thanksgiving? Please share this opportunity with neighbors who may need a turkey and sides delivered to their home.
