It's time to apply for NC Pre-Kindergarten's 2020-2021 school year! NC Pre-K is a state program to strengthen four-year-old (age by August 31, 2020) student's academic and social/emotional skills before entering Kindergarten the next school year.

The program follows the UCPS school calendar from August to June. Most NC Pre-K classes operate from 7:30 am to 2 pm each school day.

Classes in this high-quality learning environment are taught by NC licensed teachers with a qualified assistant. Class size is a maximum of eighteen students. A NC Pre-K class day includes support in developmental domains including social/emotional learning, outdoor time (weather permitting), literacy, art, math and more. NC Pre-K students learn in a developmentally appropriate play-based environment.
