Novant Health Matthews Medical Center provides to families in Matthews and surrounding counties a wide-range of health services including maternity, surgery, cardiovascular and cancer care.

Open since August 1994, Matthews Medical Center offers private patient rooms, an emergency department, inpatient and outpatient surgery, radiology, laboratories, a diagnostic treatment and support service area, an intensive care unit for critically-ill patients, and a special emphasis on maternity care.

In addition to these services, Matthews Medical Center recently opened a fifth floor vertical expansion with 23 inpatient rooms, nine observation rooms and three hospice beds.
