DESCRIPTION:North Carolina Law requires counties to regularly revalue property to assess property taxes based on the current market value of the property. Union County is currently in the process of its 2021 Revaluation. \n\n\n\nTo help residential and commercial property owners better understand the process\, we have invited Union County Tax Administrator Vann Harrell to share at the February Business Builder. \n\n\n\nHe will discuss:\n\n Why the County is reassessing now\n The process for the reassessment\n How it will affect taxes for property owners\n The appeals process\n\nHe will also answer your questions about the process. \n\n\n\nCan't make the meeting live? He served as Tax Collector in Martin County before joining Union County as the Revenue Division Director. He was appointed as Tax Administrator in 2017. \n\n\n\nVann is a certified North Carolina Assessor and Tax Collector\, past President of the Central Piedmont Tax Assessors and Collectors Association\, as well as a member of the N.C. Association of Assessing Officers\, the International Association of Assessing Officers\, and the North Carolina Tax Collector?s Association.
