Session 1: Time Management Strategies - Wednesday, June 2, 2021 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
In today's hectic world, many people quickly get overwhelmed with choices and their schedules get bogged down with time wasting activities, leaving them often feeling exhausted, rushed, and unproductive.
In the first session of the 2020 Young Professionals Of Union County Professional Development Conference, we've invited Bryan Calkin, founder of Atlas Leadership Analytics to help get your time management back on track.
In this interactive workshop, you'll learn and apply specific strategies to identify and mitigate the causes.
We will review effective time management techniques you can apply in your personal and professional life, to improve your overall productivity and wellbeing.
Bryan is a veteran who uses a scientist-practitioner approach to help executives, leaders, and business owners improve their companies. He has taught leadership at the US Air Force Academy, UNC Charlotte, and led multimillion dollar applied research programs affecting hundreds of thousands of employees. He specializes in enhancing individual and team performance.
Session 2: Work-Life Balance is a Myth, But You Can Still Find Harmony - Wednesday, June 9, 2021 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
The term "work-life balance" was coined in 1986, and has proven to be an elusive target for professionals. Balance is defined as "stability produced by even distribution of weight on each side of the vertical axis." The problem with work-life-balance is that it is nearly impossible to get those two realms evenly distributed all the time. There are always going to be projects at work that may take up more of your personal life for a short time, and there will be life events that will overtake elements of your professional life.
In this session, learn to reframe your thinking around work-life balance, and come away with practical strategies to help create peace, and success in your personal and professional life.
Session 3: How to Have Impact Without Experience - Wednesday, June 16, 2021 a.m. 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
As future leaders in your company, and your community, many young professionals are eager to make an impact. In their eagerness to enact change, they often skip over an important first step: identifying the culture of the organization.
We've invited Linda Fortune-Coltrane, Human Resources Manager at Greiner Bio-One, to share about How to Have Impact Without Experience.
Linda will use her 10+ years of working in Corporate Culture and HR roles to help you:
- Identify/evaluate the culture of an organization before you join
- Understand how to improve the organization within its culture,
- Appropriately move on if/when the time comes where the culture is no longer a good fit
The link for the meetings will be emailed the Monday before each session.
