The North Carolina Industrial Commission now limits narcotics to 5 days and the US Congress says that the FDA can mandate a 3-day opioid pre-packaging. Can it impact your bottom line?\n\n \n\nAt this first Environmental Health & Safety Breakfast of the year\, Dr. Lawrence Raymond\, Director of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Atrium Health shares with the Chamber some of the things you may not know about the care of an injured worker treated with opioids. Raymond is Atrium Health's Director of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Attending Physician at Atrium Health in Charlotte\, North Carolina since 1995.\n\n\n\nHe is board certified in Internal Medicine\, Pulmonary Diseases\, and Occupational Medicine.\n\nHis Charlotte research focus includes medical surveillance for Hazmat teams\, and prevention of diabetes and heart disease in the workplace. He served as Medical Safety Officer for Charlotte's ALERT (homeland security response team)\, Chair of the Medical Advisory Team of Clean Air Carolina\, and Chair of the Lung Disorders Committee of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine\, where he is an active member of its Council on Public Affairs and Council of Scientific Advisors.
