SUMMARY:Emerging Leaders Luncheon: Time to Level Up?
DESCRIPTION:How mentorship and sponsorship can help advance your career\n\nMost of us have heard of mentorship. That coach who helped you improve your sports game or that colleague who shared some tips on how to tackle a new project. While mentorship focuses on skill development\, industry knowledge and navigating challenges\, sponsorship is all about career advancement within an organization.\n\n\n\nJoin us for our first Emerging Leaders Luncheon of 2025 and learn the difference between mentorship and sponsorship and how to leverage them both to achieve career goals and advancement. Gain insight and knowledge that will help you prepare a game plan to level up in your organization. \n\n\n\nDeAndre Lipscomb is principal consultant and owner of Triple D Consulting\, LLC. He has an extensive background as an executive strategist with over 25 years of communications\, marketing\, and community outreach leadership experience in healthcare and financial services. DeAndre most recently served as a Managing Director in the mortgage finance industry. He holds certifications as a diversity professional through the National Diversity Council\, in reputation management from the Public Relations Society of America and corporate citizenship management from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.\n\nDeAndre has led and contributed to employee engagement and leadership development initiatives across multiple industries including nonprofit\, higher education\, healthcare\, and government.\n\nHis impact in communications\, marketing\, community outreach and philanthropy for various organizations led to the growth and expansion of health care coverage in underrepresented communities throughout Michigan\, over $1 million in scholarships awarded to high school seniors\, returning students and those pursuing a skilled trade\, keeping small business owners operable during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic through crowdfunding\, and higher employee retention and lower attrition rates through the creation of DEI and corporate social responsibility strategies.\n\nDeAndre earned a bachelor?s degree from Wayne State University?s honors journalism program and a master?s degree in administration with a focus in leadership from Central Michigan University. He is an advocate for lifelong learning and professional development.\n\nWhen he?s not working you can find him traveling to learn more about how geography plays a role in shaping who we are\, catching a new art exhibit\, theatrical play or nodding and swaying to live jazz and old school R&B.\n\n\n\nMembers who join the Emerging Leaders Program (membership information can be found here) and attend all 4 luncheons and 2 seminars will have the opportunity to receive a professionally produced headshot.\n\n\n\nThe Emerging Leaders Program equips future influential decision-makers in Union County with comprehensive professional and personal skills\, engaged civic knowledge\, and active community service.
