DESCRIPTION:A Women in Business Event\n\nPlease join us at this last Union County Women in Business Luncheon of the year as we welcome guest speaker\, Dr. Maria Pharr\, President of South Piedmont Community College. \n\n\n\nYou don't want to miss this luncheon as Dr. Pharr will be sharing her career journey to president of a local community college and the wisdom she has gained along the way.\n\n \n\nCome hear from a fellow community leader and woman in business\, as she shares encouraging lessons she has learned on staying true to yourself\, finding your passion\, and making a difference in your community.   \n\n\n\nHave lunch with your Union County Chamber's Women in Business members\, make some connections\, and hear an inspiring message from a local community leader!  We hope to see you there!\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDr. Maria Pharr is current President of South Piedmont Community College in Monroe\, North Carolina. \n\nShe holds a bachelor's degree in Biology from St. Andrews University and earned her Master of Arts in Science Education and Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from East Carolina University. \n\n\n\nSince coming to South Piedmont Community College\, Dr. Pharr has worked to establish the College as an integral partner in economic and workforce development as well as in community and cultural engagement in Union and Anson counties.\n\n \n\nDr. Pharr was recently named one of Union County's Most Powerful Women by Union County Weekly and was recently chosen as a 2019 ECU Incredible Woman.
