The Alliance for Children is now welcoming student applications for the free NC Pre-Kindergarten program in Union County!
The North Carolina Pre-Kindergarten Program is a free, high quality program designed to enhance school readiness for eligible four-year-old children. The program is built on the National Education Goals Panel’s premise that to be successful academically in school, children need to be prepared in all five of the developmental domains that are critical to children’s overall well-being and success in reading and math as they enter school including: approaches to play and learning, emotional and social development, health and physical development, language development and communication, and cognitive development.
Visit www.theAllianceforChildren.org under NC Pre-K for: frequently asked questions, eligibility details, family resources and NC Pre-K program applications in English and Spanish.
Applications are also available in our office in English and Spanish during regular business hours.
Applications for NC Pre-K are welcomed through May 1, 2017 for the 2017-18 school year.
Students must be four years old by August 31 to attend the income-based NC Pre-K program in 2017-18.
